Aden Hynes is a commercial sculptor, and Managing Director of Sculpture Studios. With nearly 40 years of experience crafting large-scale 3D art for the film, TV and exhibition industries, he is one of the UK’s most respected names in scenic sculpture. Known for creating standout pieces for clients such as the English National Opera and The Hunger Games on Stage, his career is a masterclass in creative longevity.
After discovering a passion for sculpture at a young age, Aden followed his creative instincts to a foundation course at Thurrock Technical College before studying BA (Hons) in Fine Art Sculpture at Maidstone College of Art. Struggling with dyslexia but fuelled by sheer determination, he forged his own path outside the classroom and industry conventions. His early inspiration came from his mother, a single parent who encouraged him to pursue his passions without hesitation.
Aden began as a freelance sculptor, earning his stripes with projects for Madam Tussauds, Spitting Image, and English National Opera. In 1986, he established Sculpture Studios, a creative hub that now services major clients across the UK and abroad. Known for his polystyrene carving and fibreglass production, Aden’s work spans public art, theme parks, back garden pieces, and theatrical installations. His YouTube channel now hosts over 400 videos, showcasing his studio’s projects and processes to a global audience.

Aden answered questions with openness and enthusiasm, bringing a positive energy that made a lasting impression.
We would happily welcome Aden back again." – Julie, Art Lecturer, Rose Bruford College
"Aden had an exemplary reputation and came highly recommended when I was looking for a local commercial artist to come into the school at which I work and expand the vision of the pupils beyond the classroom.
Aden was invited to give a Year 9 assembly, discussing all aspects throughout his career, from how he started out, the business side and creative aspects. This was exciting, clear and entertaining, keeping all the Year 9 pupils engaged and interested throughout. Afterwards, he gave a workshop to my GCSE pupils involving a hands-on approach, solving spatial puzzles and creating small sculptural structures. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the workshops as they were fun and educational, leaving a positive impression.
Due to the success, I organised a sculpture competition within the school. Pupils designed a sculpture to be made and placed on site, with the winner invited to Aden’s studio to see it being created.
Aden gave a talk and tour of his studio to all pupils involved, answering questions and showing the impressive sculptures he and his team were working on. He spent a morning in the classroom discussing outdoor sculpture, materials, scale and colour. The winning design was then built in his studio, giving the pupil a rare insight into professional practice.
The process was invaluable. Aden connected with every pupil, making them feel at ease and showing them that art is accessible to all. He opened up the world of sculpture in a way that was exciting, clear and engaging.
I wholeheartedly recommend Aden." – Jennifer, Head of Art, De La Salle School
