A singer in The Grumbleweeds from the start, Maurice Grumbleweed was a member of the band for 40 years. From the early days as a beat group to their days as a cabaret band, The Grumbleweeds spent 17 years on their own award-winning radio show on Radio 2. Now an accomplished solo artist, Maurice has performed to over 200 crowds aboard cruise ships and combines his comedy with music to create an unforgettable night for all. Having been working on his solo music during the Covid-19 pandemic, Maurice is ready to get performing his original songs from his album, One Door Opens.
After their radio show went to Granada TV, The Grumbleweeds were signed by Johnnie Hamp to have their own Saturday night TV series. Throughout his career, Maurice has performed at every Cabaret venue across the UK and has also headlined summer shows in the top resorts across the globe. He has also appeared across live TV, with live shows filmed at Her Majesty’s The Junior Royal Command and the London Palladium. Now focussing on his solo career, Maurice has spent several years entertaining cruise ship guests aboard P&O and Marella cruises.
Spending several years writing his own songs, Maurice has released his music with Indie record labels and is currently working on new blues tracks, having released One Door Opens and In To Hell. When he isn’t writing music or performing, Maurice shares his time as an avid painter and drawer, having portrayed his talents in his book World Watching with Maurice Grumbleweed. Maurice is also the author of the autobiography, Grumblin and Crusin Through Life.
