Jon Jenkins is a 47-year-old former Great British Bake Off contestant and celebrity chef from Newport. When he’s not baking, Jon works as a blood courier but he says he takes any opportunity he can to get in the kitchen.
Originally from New Inn, Pontypool, the father-of-four now lives in Malpas, Newport, with his wife Debbie and two youngest daughters, Lucy and Hannah. His eldest James has just graduated from university, while daughter Emily is still studying And it’s when he’s home alone that he enjoys baking the most.
Jon follows in the footsteps of other Welsh bakers who have taken part in the past – they include Beca Lyne-Pirkis from Cardiff who made it to the 2013 semi-final, and Paul Jagger from Swansea, who famously made a lion out of bread in 2015 and narrowly missed out on the semi-final.
