David Lloyd


Former English cricketer David Lloyd is one of the most recognisable personalities in cricket. Known throughout the cricketing world as ‘Bumble’, David enjoyed an 18 years career with his home county Lancashire, whilst also occasionally playing semi-professional football for Accrington Stanley. A terrific cricket speaker, David has a host of anecdotal tales he can call upon for a career at the very top of the sport.

A left handed batsman and left handed spin bowler, David played nine tests for his country as well as eight One Day Internationals. In test cricket, David recorded a highest score of 214*, proving his prowess as a highly skilled sportsman. Taking 237 wickets and more than 19,000 runs in first class cricket, Lloyd was one of the most prominent players of the time, delivering polished performances whenever he stepped up to the crease.

Retiring as a player, David became a first class umpire before taking on the roles of both Lancashire and England coach, the latter position coming to an end after the 1999 World Cup.
