French academic, author, consultant, thought leader and speaker, Yves Doz is Professor of Global Technology and Innovation at INSEAD and Fellow of CEDEP. Identified as one of only a handful of true European management gurus by The Economist, Professor Doz is a leading authority on alliance, globalisation and competitiveness. Initially starting his career in the aerospace industry, Yves Doz eventually moved over to academia, becoming an assistant professor at Harvard Business School. It was in 1981 that he joined INSEAD as an associate professor, and by 1986 was a full professor. He has spent many years researching innovation, the strategy and organisation of multinational corporations, strategic alliances, and on how business organisations can develop the capability to adapt quickly to changes in competitive environments.
Most recently, Professor Doz has been working with a number of national governments on strategic adaptability and agility, providing his intimate knowledge and expert advice on how to improve in this busy, competitive and fast changing environment. As a leading academic, Professor Doz has authored a number of publications such as the books 'Strategic Management in Multinational Companies', 'From Global to Metanational: How Companies Win in the Knowledge Economy', 'Managing Global Innovations' and 'Ringtone: Exploring the Rise and Fall of Nokia in Mobile Phones'. He is also the author of articles that include 'The Power of Strategic Integration', 'Sloan Management Review', 'The New Deal at the Top' and 'L'Oréal Masters Multiculturalism'.
As a result of the impact and influence his work has had, Yves has received a number of academic awards, including the AT Kearney Academy of Management Award, which was awarded in 1977 and he also received the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Academy of Management. Furthermore, Yves was a Ford Foundation Doctoral Fellow, and is now a Fellow of the Academy of Management and a Fellow of the Academy of International Business. A hugely experienced individual, with many years of industry experience, Professor Doz discusses topics such as multi-management, strategic partnerships, entrepreneurial innovation and renewal, with a particular focus on how corporations can tap into technical and market knowledge for all around the globe.
