Tracy Alloway

Tracy Alloway is one of the most respected voices in modern financial journalism, renowned for her ability to make complex economic and market trends accessible to audiences around the world. After earning a BSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a postgraduate degree in Periodical Journalism from the University of Westminster, Tracy began her career at Bloomberg News as a Transport Reporter. She later joined the Financial Times, where she progressed from FT Alphaville Reporter to Deputy Editor of the publication’s award-winning markets blog. During her time at the Financial Times, she covered major global events including the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the eurozone debt crisis before becoming US Financial Correspondent, specialising in banks and capital markets. Alongside these leadership roles, she also served as a television correspondent based in Abu Dhabi, reporting on major geopolitical and financial developments across the Middle East. Returning to Bloomberg, Tracy held a series of senior editorial leadership positions, including Executive Editor of Bloomberg Markets, Managing Editor and Executive Editor of the Cross-Asset Markets team, and Executive Editor of Bloomberg’s Asia News Desk. 

Beyond her reporting career, Tracy has become a prominent media personality through Odd Lots, the podcast she helped establish as one of the most influential programmes in global finance. Alongside co-host Joe Weisenthal, she has interviewed leading economists, investors, policymakers and business leaders, earning a loyal international audience. She serves as Editorial Co-Chair of Bloomberg’s Markets Most Influential summits in New York and Abu Dhabi and sits on the Bloomberg Markets Magazine board. Throughout her career, she has interviewed major global figures, including CEOs of multinational corporations, senior government officials, central figures in the energy industry and some of Wall Street’s most influential investors.
