Qualified horticulturalist and TV present Toby Buckland is best known as one of the many faces of the seminal BBC series Gardener’s World. Alongside fellow TV presenter and gardening enthusiast Monty Don (and his dog Nigel) Toby has become one of the most beloved faces of the horticultural world; his hands on attitude and friendly personality making all his television, radio and public appearances enjoyable and engaging.
Before becoming a TV presenter Toby Buckland had worked in a horticultural nursery in his home town in Devon, now, thanks to both his success as a TV personality and the advancement of his gardening expertise, Toby runs his own nursery with online sales across the UK. Beyond Gardener’s World Toby has also worked as a TV presenter on a number of other gardening related programmes including Home Front in the Garden, Garden Magic and For Peat’s Sake – for which he won the Garden Media Guild’s Environmental Award back in 2009.
Toby’s work outside TV presenting remains strongly anchored in the horticultural industry; he often lectures and works as a guest speaker and environmental and horticultural events and contributes as a writer to a number of high profile publications including The Telegraph, The Daily Mail and The Guardian. He has also published a number of books, including the BBC book Flowers, Planning and Planting for Continuous Colour.
