Sue Perkins is a nationally known English host, comedian, broadcaster, actress and writer. Coming to prominence through her comedy duo with Mel Giedroyc, she has enjoyed a career across various radio and television shows, most notably as the co-host of The Great British Bake Off from 2010 to 2016.
Alongside her creative partner, Sue moved into the entertainment industry after being shortlisted for the Daily Express’s Best Newcomers Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 1993. The duo then wrote for the show French and Saunders before co-hosting their own Channel 4 shows, Light Lunch and Late Lunch. In 2002, Sue appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, and in 2008, she featured as a contestant on Maestro. Following her success on the show, Sue had the opportunity to guest-conduct the London Gay Symphony at St Anne's Church Gardens in Soho, as well as the BBC Concert Orchestra at the first Comedy Prom at the Royal Albert Hall. In 2010, she became the co-host of The Great British Bake Off alongside Mel; however, in 2016, Sue announced she would no longer be co-hosting The Great British Bake Off as it moved to Channel 4. She then presented Insert Name Here for a number of years and, since 2011, has presented a variety of travel shows, including her most recent adventures around Latin America on Netflix's Perfectly Legal. Sue has appeared on a multitude of popular television shows, including Have I Got News For You, Mock of the Week, QI, Room 101, Celebrity Weakest Link, Question Time, Newsnight, The Masked Singer, Taskmaster, and more.
Alongside her television work, Sue has released several books, including ‘Giles and Sue Live the Good Life’, ‘Spectacles’, ‘East of Croydon’, ‘Tweet of the Day’, and ‘The Personality Test'. She is also currently the host of Just a Minute on BBC Radio 4, and the co-host of the ‘Mel and Sue: Should Know by Now’ podcast, which launched in 2025 on Audible. She has hosted and been a guest on various podcasts, including ‘At Your Leisure with Sue Perkins’, ‘Carrie Jade Does Not Exist’, ‘Dish’, and ‘Off Menu’.
A comedy and television legend, Sue toured her stand-up show ‘The Eternal Shame of Sue Perkins’ in which she shared hilarious, personal anecdotes from across her career, mental health journey, her time on Bake Off, and more. She also starred in the West End Play ‘Every Brilliant Thing’, solidifying her reputation as a multi-faceted comedian and entertainer. Sue is a brilliant addition to a multitude of events and perfect for a variety of audiences.
