Stewart Innes is a British Olympic rower. Rio Olympic Finalist, World, and European Medallist. 2015 marked a breakthrough year for Stewart making his debut in the GB Rowing Team in May; by September he was already a European and World medallist. Pundits were quick to label Stewart an “overnight success”, and selection for the Rio Olympics appeared to be a certainty. After early season illness in 2016, Stewart faced a brutal selection process that was dragged out for over three months, finally winning selection to the Pair just 42 days before the Rio Olympics. Stewart went on to finish 4th.

Returning to training in 2017 Stewart was determined to stand on the podium in 2020, and was selected to British Rowing’s flagship boat the men’s four. It was at this point his Olympic dream fell to pieces around him, spending the next 2 years fighting what he was told would be a career ending injury, at points unable to walk without pain, after two long years, six injections, and two major surgeries, against all odds Stewart has returned to rowing. Such is Stewart's dedication that after being cut from the World Class Program due to his injury he has begun sharing his incredible story to fund his return to the Olympic team and chase his dream of standing on the podium in 2020.
