Steve Mould

Steve Mould is a scientist and comedian, well-known for producing scientific educational videos on YouTube. Utilising his scientific background, since 2010 Mould has performed as part of the comedic trio, Festival of The Spoken Nerd, appearing live, on TV, making radio shows, podcasts and writing books. An experimental scientist with a great sense of humour, Mould uses this combination to deliver educational and informative scientific content in a fun way.

Since graduating with an MA in Physics from the University of Oxford, Mould has moved on to present scientific shows, appearing as a scientific expert on The Alan Titchmarsh Show, The One Show and Blue Peter. Alongside his co-hosts on The Festival of the Spoken Nerd, Mould has created a comedy show for BBC Radio 4, featured on BBC Two’s QI, performed all over the world in prestigious events with prominent people such as Brian Cox and Chris Hadfield.

On his educational YouTube channel, Mould boasts over 1.53 million subscribers. Bringing the rising self-siphoning beads phenomenon to the attention of Cambridge University academics, through his videos. One of the academics involved in publishing a scientific explanation for the effect, named it the “Mould effect”. Mould has 4 published books titled, The Bacteria Book, How to Be a Scientist, Science is Magic and Wild Scientists.
