With Auckland he won eight National Provincial Championships and two Super Rugby competitions with Blues, proving his dominance in the sport.
Since retiring from professional play, Sean was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to rugby in 1997. He also accumulated a total of ninety two appearances for New Zealand throughout his career, with an impressive fifty one as captain. Sean remains a prominent figure in the sports industry and is a respected analyst for TV and publications. Additionally, Sean was appointed as a rugby consultant to the NZRFU responsible for developing players as a knowledgeable expert.
