Brian Moore

Former English Lions rugby player, Brian Moore had a successful 10 year run playing as a hooker which was followed by experience as a sports speaker and pundit on British television. Brian's professional career took off in the late 1980s until he retired from international rugby union in 1995. Since then he is best known as a top rugby speaker covering some of the most high profile rugby union games.

Between 1987 and 1995 Moore became the 13th most capped Englishman as a result of him winning 64 international caps. Moore was a crucial member of the English side in 1991, 1992 and 1995 helping his team come to victory at the Grand Slams. Moore’s excellent performances earned him the Rugby World Player of the Year award in 1991. Later Moore’s extensive skill set led him to become a rugby union referee and also a trained solicitor where he became a partner in both Edward Lewis LLP and Memory Crystal LLP.

Moore’s career then took him to the media where he regularly commentates on BBC’s rugby union coverage alongside Eddie Butler. He also took on the role of lead commentator for TalkSport Radio where he covered the Rugby World Cup and took on a permanent role between 2013-2014. Moore was shortlisted for Sports Journalist of the Year in the 2009 British Press Awards for his rugby column in the Daily Telegraph. Moore has also authored multiple books, his autobiography, Beware of the Dog was described as one of the best shortlists ever put together and won the 2010 William Hill Sports Book of the Year followed by a British Sports Book Award in 2011.
