Ronnie Irani is a retired professional cricketer who represented England on a number of occasions. Moving to Essex in 1994, Irani would play for the county for the remainder of his career before being forced to retire due to an ongoing knee injury. Making his debut for England in 1996 in a One Day International against India, Irani took to the international game like a duck to water. He played in three test matches for England but it was the shorter form of the game where he really made an impact. In 31 One Day games, Irani scored 360 runs and took 24 wickets which include one five-wicket haul.
Awarded Fans' player of the series after an exceptional series against Sri Lanka in 2002, it was obvious to many that Irani still had many playing years ahead of him if it wasn't for an unfortunate injury. Since retiring, Irani has spent time co-hosting The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT. Here he gained vital presenting skills and enhanced his ability to talk to an audience, this extra bit of experience ensures he is a truly invigorating speaker.
