Renaldo Nehemiah, President of Athletics Promotion, is best known for his distinguished athletic accomplishments, most prominently as a world record holder in the 110m high hurdles. Accomplished both and off the track, he delivers highly motivational keynote addresses that include anecdotes from his stellar career as an athlete and in the corporate setting.
Educated at the University of Maryland, Renaldo has competed and performed at the highest level in not one, but two sports – track & field and football. The first man to complete 110m high hurdles in under 13 seconds, he is known as the best hurdler of all time by many people. Renaldo’s talent superseded expectations that people could have from an amateur. The man behind what is now called “The Nehemiah Rule”, he set the precedent for professional athletes being able to participate as amateurs in track and field today.
Achieving great heights in track and field, Renaldo decided to immerse himself in the world of football. To make matters more challenging, he did not have any prior college football experience. However, as a result of his grit and determination, Renaldo became a member of the World Champion San Francisco 49ers and was part of the team that won the Super Bowl. Having shown unparalleled talent in two sports, Renaldo received the Jim Thorpe Award in 1986 – a great achievement.
Outside of the world of athletics, Renaldo has been an NBC Sports Reporter on show such as “Going for Gold”. He has also been Co-Executive Producer & Host of “The Kid Club with Renaldo Nehemiah”. Inducted in the Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013, and Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame in 2023, Renaldo is a revered figure in the world of sports. He has served as the Ambassador for USA Track & Field – a testament to the respect he commands in the sport. Renaldo Nehemiah is now available to hire as a keynote speaker for a wide range of events, delivering speeches that teach lessons on motivation and high performance.
