Ramanan Hariharan is the Principal Engineering Manager for AI Security and Identity and Access Management at Microsoft. Working across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, Ramanan has led the design of a unified, multi-cloud IAM framework that addresses shared identity layers, real-time AI-driven risk scoring, and automated logging and compliance mapping.
Beginning his career in 2008, Ramanan founded Astradge Technologies whilst studying for his BEng in Computer Science from the Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He held research intern positions at both AGV Systems and KVIC before joining Infosys as a Systems Engineer. In 2014, he was taken on by Google as a Research Scientist. Following the completion of his MSc in Computer Science from the Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University, Ramanan joined the team at Deloitte, where he would remain for nearly 10 years, working his way from Technology Consultant all the way up to Senior Manager of IAM Engineering. Since 2024, he has worked at Microsoft, designing and implementing products and solutions that offer fast yet high-quality impact, healthy influence and aid in the achievement of long-term objectives.
Consistently ranking as a top performer in each of his roles and graduating Summa Cum Laude in his Masters, Ramanan is also an advocate for diversity and inclusion, emphasising the importance of showing empathy to each member of the team.
Now eager to share his expertise, experience, and knowledge in information technology, emerging technology, programming, and AI, Ramanan is available to hire for a multitude of events, summits, and forums. Most recently, he delivered a talk at the Vidyalankar Institute of Technology as an alumnus, offering students an insight into the tech industry beyond the classrooms and textbooks and career guidance supported by his own lived experience.
