Prakriti Varshney is a pioneering Indian athlete, mountaineer and changemaker who is breaking stereotypes one summit at a time. She is best known as the first vegan woman in the world to summit Mt. Lhtose.
Born and raised in India, Prakriti graduated in finance, and then went on to become a fashion designer. She then took a change in path, becoming a globally recognised mountaineer. She trained herself rigorously, both physically and mentally. She has taken on some of the world's toughest terrains, whilst adhering to a strict vegan lifestyle. She is currently on a mission to become the first vegan woman in the world to complete the Seven Summits challenge. So far she has successfully summited Mt. Everest, Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Aconcagua. Beyond mountaineering, Prakriti is a certified scuba diver, marathon runner, paraglider, and snowboarder, and advocates for gender equality in sport, as well as advocating for animal welfare, and is associated with stray dog efforts in Manali.
