Philip Rosedale is a prolific tech entrepreneur having created FreeVue, founded Linden Lab, co-founded LoveMachine, released Coffee & Power and co-founded High Fidelity. Philip showed an interest in technology and computers at a young age, selling database systems to small businesses aged 17. Using the proceeds from his business, Philip went on to earn a BSc in Physics and Computer Science from the University of California San Diego. In 1995 he created and sold FreeVue an internet video conferencing product to RealNetworks. He then founded Linden Lab in 1999, launching Second Life, his revolutionary virtual world which has 1 million active users with an annual spend of $1 billion.
In 2011 Philip released Coffee & Power, a site that allowed people to connect for small jobs and services. Philip then used the team at Coffee & Power to co-find his new company High Fidelity. Conducting pioneering work, Philip is currently working on the prototype stages of a new global virtual world, which will allow people to do a wide variety of day to day things in a virtual environment. He is now the Co-Founder of In Reality Lab - a new community tech lab focused on human-centered, positive uses of technology.
