Former Irish Rugby Union star, Paul Wallace has established himself as one of the finest players of our time. Having performed at the highest level for both Ireland and the British and Irish Lions - Paul encapsulates all the qualities that an international sports' star requires. Paul's ability and dedication to professionalism saw him rise through the ranks to have played for the biggest club teams in the game. He featured for UCC and Blackrock College RFC in the amateur leagues before stepping up in 1996 to the professional game. He made his international debut in the 1995 Rugby World Cup for Ireland, with his performances bringing him to the attention of professional club, Saracens.
Having joined Saracens in 1996, he went on to make 67 appearances, scoring 45 points between 1995-2002. In that time he enjoyed 46 Ireland caps, racking up 25 points at international level. Paul was also selected for the 1997 British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa. He played in all three tests as the Lions won the series, with manager Fran Cotton calling him the 'cornerstone of the scrum' and captain Martin Johnson calling him his Player of the Series. Leinster came calling in 2001, and he became instrumental in their title charge, helping them to victory in the Celtic League.
Unfortunately, injury troubles ultimately got the better of Paul after 24 appearances for Leinster, and he retired from rugby in 2003. But his experiences within the game immediately positioned him as one of the most captivating rugby speakers and pundits. He continues to work as a contributor for The Daily Mail and Rugby World magazine, as well as a pundit for Sky Sports, where his in-depth analysis and expertise gives a new dimension to rugby broadcasts. In addition, he is a panellist on radio rugby show, The Last Word and he is a judge for the International Rugby Board Player of the Year Award. Paul's career has seen many highs and lows and has seen him overcome adversity, maximise success, reach peak performance and realise his ambitions. It is this that marks him out as the ideal motivational speaker to entertain and inspire your guests at corporate events.
