Pam Rhodes

Pam Rhodes is widely known for her profession as a radio and television presenter, best known for her long-running tenure on the programme Songs of Praise. Over the past 30 years, Pam has dedicated her talents to the programme, hosting over the country from colossal outdoor broadcasts to the smallest quaint village churches. The list of celebrities that she has met is extensive, including the likes of The Pope and Dolly Parton to name but a few. Favoured for the interviews that she undertakes on the show, Pam is revered for her sensitivity when people share their stories with her.

First experiencing the world of television in news, Pam’s first job was as part of Thames Television Today. Quickly gaining the approval of professionals in the television industry, Pam was later appointed as the Programme Organiser for This Week on ITV. From the moment that she stepped onto set and in front of the camera, it was decided that Pam was a natural and so remained as a favourite across news broadcasts. She went on to present About Anglia and the weather on London Weekend Television.

Alongside television broadcasting, Pam has heavily dedicated her career to article writing, short stories and scriptwriting. She has been commissioned to write for numerous newspapers and magazines, such as The Daily Mail, Choice, My Weekly and Woman’s Weekly. She is highly regarded for penning all of her own scripts and is so talented that many others ask her to author theirs too. Pam has turned her hand to writing 11 books spanning the genres of novels and factual. Some of her titles include Fisher of Men, Saints and Sailors, Letting Go and Colours For The Soul.

Pam has interviewed countless individuals, including Roald Dahl, Sir Ian McKellen, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sting. Such experience has allowed Pam to build her personal skills and foster a reputation for having a personable character. Pam is highly sought as a professional public speaker and has formerly been seen commanding a number of corporate events and conferences. A passionate philanthropist, Pam is also an avid supporter of various charities, acting as the Vice President of The Church Army, The Leprosy Mission and Livability. Pam also shares her times as a patron for MHA and an ambassador of Mercy Ships. Pam also runs a cattery with her husband, providing care for cats that are waiting to be rehomed in support of the RSPCA.
