Omar played a pivotal part of many successful marketing campaigns for Nike, building the Nike+ Sports Music platform and establishing the first revenue-generating relationship with record labels for Nike.
Some of the most memorable Nike advertising campaigns are the genius of Omar’s, such including campaigns featuring LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. His Nike+ Sports Music was immensely successful, collaborating with companies such as Sony, Capitol and Universal to sell over 5 million tracks. After working with Nike for five years, Omar moved to work for headphone company Beats by Dre. He was initially appointed as Vice President of Marketing for Beats by Dre, before taking the title of Chief Marketing Officer. Omar orchestrated explosive growth for Beats, creating outstanding marketing campaigns with superstars Chris Rock, Eminem and LeBron James. By the end of his tenure as CMO, Omar had managed to lead a $20 million company to make over $1.1 billion and become global icons in the headphone industry. Using Ambush marketing and a number of prominent influencers, Omar was able to make Beats a household name.
After Beats, Omar took his marketing genius to tech giant Apple. Omar was appointed as the Vice President of Marketing for Apple in 2014, once again using his erudite knowledge and talent to orchestrate astounding campaigns for the company. Since leaving Apple, Omar has founded Øpus United a collective group of people demonstrating what it takes to power world-class brands and how to create revenue. In reward of his contributions to marketing, Omar has recently been named as one of the Top 100 Black Thought Leaders by BlackList100 and named one of the Most Innovative CMO’s by Business Insider.
