Oliver Cope is a trainer and data analyst specialising in wellbeing, attention and digital behaviour. A current PhD researcher in psychology, he is recognised for translating complex scientific research into practical strategies that improve performance and mental health. His most significant achievement is combining academic research with real-world delivery as Keynote Speaker and Trainer at Art of Brilliance, while leading innovative wellbeing measurement tools used across the UK.
Oliver’s early career reflects a clear commitment to understanding how people think, feel and perform. He studied for a BSc in Psychology at Newcastle University, accredited by the British Psychological Society, where he developed a strong grounding in cognitive psychology, research methods and statistical analysis. His undergraduate research explored how television news influences mood, signalling an early interest in media and wellbeing. He went on to complete an MSc in Computational Neuroscience and Cognitive Robotics at the University of Birmingham, graduating with Distinction, and strengthening his expertise in data analysis, machine learning and programming. During this time, he worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Birmingham, leading a pilot study in psychophysics and gaining experience with motion capture technology. Oliver is now undertaking a PhD in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, researching the effects of social media on attention and cognitive performance, positioning him at the forefront of conversations around technology and the brain.
Professionally, Oliver holds the dual role of Keynote Speaker and Trainer at Art of Brilliance and Senior Data Analyst, a rare combination that allows him to unite behavioural science with measurable impact. He designed and coded the Art of Brilliance ‘Wellbeing Barometer’, a Python-based survey that provides statistically analysed wellbeing reports for schools and businesses. His work enables leadership teams to make informed decisions based on robust psychological data rather than assumption. In 2025 he co-authored a book with Andy Cope titled ‘Ladult: Navigating Safely from Boy to Man’, aimed at teenage boys. The book was published in October 2025 and offers practical psychological insight on confidence, resilience, screen time, relationships and modern challenges facing young men. Alongside respected colleagues including Darrell Woodman, Hannah Knowles, Jonathan Peach, Martin Burder and Suzie Lavington, Oliver delivers evidence-based sessions to audiences across corporate, higher education and school settings. A Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society, he has spoken to audiences of more than 300 people, earning a reputation for clarity, warmth and credibility.
Organisations book Oliver because he addresses one of the defining challenges of modern life, sustaining wellbeing and focus in an age of constant digital distraction. His keynote sessions cover positive psychology, mental health, attention management and building healthier relationships with technology, including his popular ‘Social Media Detox’ workshop. Whether working with senior leaders, teachers or students, he equips people with practical strategies to improve concentration, resilience and culture.
