Minh Dang is a global leader in anti-human trafficking, mental health and social justice. As the Founder & Executive Director of Survivor Alliance, she unites survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking from across the world, empowering them to advocate for themselves and lead community-based solutions. In 2002, Minh completed her BA in Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, and later earned an MSW in Community Mental Health. Minh went on to become an Operations Coordinator at UC Berkeley Public Service Center, eventually progressing to the Bonner Leaders AmeriCorps Program Coordinator in 2010. In 2013, she became Executive Director at Don't Sell Bodies, an anti-human trafficking and slavery organisation founded by Will and Jada Smith. In this role, she offered expert understanding of human trafficking and coordinated public awareness campaigns. A few years later, she was appointed to the United States Advisory Council on Human Trafficking by President Obama. Here, she formulated federal recommendations and offered survivor-informed policy to the President's Interagency Task Force.
For her incredible service and impact, Minh has been recognised by several awards, including the Mark Bingham Award for Excellence in Achievement and Womanspace Barbara Boggs Sigmund Award. She was also recognised at the White House as a Champion of Change for her outstanding work in anti-human trafficking. Most recently, she won the Marsh Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Fight against Modern Slavery, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to ending oppression and social injustice. Minh has also been invited to share her insight at a variety of speaking engagements, including serving as a panellist at the 2023 Freedom from Slavery Global Forum.
