Michael Barton is a data analyst and speaker on autism, neurodiversity and Asperger’s syndrome. Gaining his degree in Physics from the University of Surrey, by trade Michael is a Data Analyst and first began his career with a placement year as a Project Technical Assistant at the Brunel Innovation Centre. Upon graduating, he then became a Market Analyst for BuyaCar.co.uk, during his time with the company, sales quadrupled and requesting quotes multiplied by ten. After Michael’s exceptional performance, he was promoted to Ecommerce Data Analyst for Dennis. He has also been an Ecommerce Data Analyst for Autovia Ltd and an Acquisition Optimisation and Channel Analyst for The AA.
Currently, Michael is a Loans Pricing Analyst for Hastings Direct and has been an autism and neurodiversity speaker and consultant since 2010. During his time as a keynote speaker, Michael has spoken at hundreds of events and has been featured on the likes of the BBC, Channel 4 and The New Scientist magazine. In January of 2023, Michael gave an exceptional TEDxOxford speech cementing him as one of the most sought-after autism and neurodiversity speakers of today. Aside from speaking, Michael has published three highly regarded books on the subject, with over 15,000 copies being sold to date. Wanting to support children from a young age who have been diagnosed with autism, Michael became a patron of CASPA, a South East London based charity which runs youth clubs for young autistic people.
