Martin Perry is a two-time British Champion in para table tennis and a compelling motivational speaker. Born with a medical condition known as congenital limb loss and deformity, Martin has no hands and one leg; however, he has never let this hold him back. After seeing the GB Paralympics table tennis team as a child, Martin was instantly transfixed and has dedicated his life to mastering the sport. As a speaker, Martin shares fascinating insights from the world of table tennis and also covers broader themes such as resilience, adversity, problem-solving, and motivation. Ideal for a range of events, Martin engages a wide variety of audiences from corporate teams to school children.
From a young age, Martin had a strong passion for sport, taking part in football, rugby, basketball and athletics. However, it was table tennis that captured his focus, and in 2015, he was invited to train full-time with the British Para Table Tennis Team. From there, Martin developed his technique and completed his BSc in Sports Development from the University of the West of Scotland. In 2017, Martin won the team bronze medal at the World Championships and later became the British Championship winner in 2019. Since then, he has continued to make an impact on the sport, and is now ranked 19th in the world and has secured over fifty-one international medals, including Doubles bronze at the European Championships, Bronze at the Czech Open and Bronze at the Polish Open.
Away from competing, Martin works with a variety of organisations and announced his biggest brand partnership with Kangen Team UK in 2021. Martin is also a well-established speaker and has been trusted to deliver engaging talks for a range of events. In 2025 alone, he was an MC for the 3rd Scottish International Parkinson’s Open and shared his story as a speaker at the Sport Positive Summit. Martin is also a passionate advocate for sustainability and served as a Planet Ambassador for the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation), where he encouraged audiences to make small steps for a better planet.
