Mark Cavendish

Mark Cavendish is one of the world’s leading professional road racing cyclists, currently signed to ride for the Deceuninck-Quick-Step UCI WorldTeam. Having claimed countless victories, including 49 Grand Tour stage victories, Mark has solidified his reputation as a talented cyclist in the history books. Also a track cyclist specialising in the Madison, scratch and points races, Mark has ridden alongside superstars such as Bradley Wiggins and Rob Hayles. Now booked as a sports speaker for corporate events, Mark is hired to share the successes of his cycling career.

Gaining a place at the British Cycling Olympic Academy, Mark was destined for cycling success from a young age. During his time at the academy, he claimed three Gold Island Games medals and in his amateur career he claimed Gold in Madison at the 2005 Track World Championships – Mark’s first World title. During his first professional season alone, Mark claimed an impressive 11 wins and has continued this winning streak throughout his career. He has now claimed 34 Tour de France stage wins, Gold at the 2008 UCI Track Cycling World Championships and Gold at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Considered to be one of the greatest road sprinters of all time, Mark has also claimed the win at the 2011 Road World Championships Road Race, won 15 individual stages in the Giro d’Italia, won the 2013 National Road Race Championships and won three individual stages at the Vuelta a Espana. Outside of competing, Mark launched the Rise Above Sportive, a cycling event held in Chester and North Wales back in 2015. He has also been honoured with the appointment of MBE for Services to British Cycling, named as the 2011 BBC Sports Personality of the Year and been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science by the University of Chester for Contributions to Cycling. He has also released two books titled Boy Racer and At Speed. Most recently, in 2023, Mark was the star of Netflix's Mark Cavendish: Never Enough - a film that depicts Mark's 'rise, fall and resurrection' as the 'most exciting cyclist ever'.

With a highly successful career as a cyclist to his name, Mark is considered to be one of the world’s most famous cyclists and is now a popular choice to appear at corporate events.
