Marina Gorbis

Marina Gorbis is the Executive Director of the Institute for the Future – a post she has held for 25 years. She leads research that looks at innovation at the intersection of new technologies and social organisation. Marina is best known for the foresight and perspective she provides organisations in the business, education, and government sectors.

Marina possesses a BA in Psychology and Master’s in Public Policy from University of California Berkeley. She spent 14 years of her career as the Director of SRI International, a global leader in the research and development sector. Through her role, Marina was able to impact countless lives through the groundbreaking work she performed.

In her role at the Institute for the Future, Marina launched the Workable Futures Initiative and the Equitable Enterprise Initiative, both of which aimed to develop the deeper understanding of new work patterns and generate positive platforms for work. Her research revolves around transformations in the realm of work and how to create more value from it. Owing to her illustrious career, Marina was named as one of the 50 Leading Female Futurists by Forbes.
