
Lydia Amoah, the founder and CEO of the Backlight Agency and The Black Pound Report, uses her flourishing platform to inspire businesses to unlock their potential by embracing cultural transformation and creative thinking. With an abundance of significant roles within her career, Lydia began as a Project Co-ordinator at MICE International. After various Management and Consultant roles with companies including August One, Goose Communications, and the NFL, Lydia began her role at Channel 4 as an in-house Talent Coach and Workshop Leader in 2012. During this time, Lydia founded The Black Report Pound, which was later rebranded as the Blacklight Agency. Whilst growing her business as the CEO, she continued working for numerous companies, including being a Diversity Patron for Show Racism the Red Card and the Head of Black at Cannes UK. In 2018, Lydia published the first version of “The Black Pound Report”, focusing on the study of the economic value of Black, Asian, and multi-ethnic people.
Lydia also teaches MBA students at the University of Oxford, looking to inspire the next generation of future leaders about the collaboration between identity, economics, and commercial impact. She has won multiple awards and recognitions, such as the Driving Force Award at the Inaugural FFinc Awards, the Market Research Society Liz Nelson Award for Social Impact, and the Entrepreneur of the Year at the City AM Dragon Awards. She has also been featured in the Performance Marketing World’s ‘Powerlist 100’, the UK Black Business Show’s ‘Top 25 Black Entrepreneurs to Watch’, and the African Business Chamber’s #AFBCtop 100 list. Most recently, she was nominated for the Most Inspirational Entrepreneur of the Year at the Inspire Awards.
Lydia captivates global audiences in her TV and media appearances, highlighting her ability to connect and inspire people. She has spoken on the Third Culture African podcast, the BBC News, BBC Two, and BBC Radio Four. She has spoken at various events, including a Microsoft event at Cannes Lions and even hosted HSBC'S Black Female Founders Event.
