Lisa Damour is an expert of psychology, who specialises in emotions of stress and anxiety. A highly sought after professional within her sector, Lisa is now also a popular choice as a speaker for a range of different events and conferences. Having previously spoken for the likes of Pixar and HBO, Lisa is recognised by the American Psychological Association and sought to speak on mental health, well-being and challenges that face females.
Best known for her work involving the mind, Lisa is a renowned Psychologist and currently a Senior Advisor at the Schubert Centre for Child Studies. Before establishing her career as an esteemed Psychologist, Lisa studied and graduated from Yale University. She began her working career as a member of the team at the Yale Child Study Centre, and then later went on to complete a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Since graduating, Lisa has become a leading authority in her subject and has also authored "Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood" and "Under Pressure: Confronting the Epidemic of Stress and Anxiety in Girls", two New York Times Bestsellers. As well as the New York Times Bestselling books, Lisa also contributes a column monthly to the New York Times, covering the topic of adolescence. Her latest book "The Emotional Lives of Teenagers" is a guide for parents to understand their teenagers emotions.
Throughout the course of her career, Lisa has written numerous papers and researched into the inner workings of the human mind. She has committed her research to stress, anxiety, education and child development, which she is now sharing as part of the Schubert Centre for Child Studies at the Western Reserve University. Outside of the research centre, Lisa is also currently working as the Executive Director of Laurel School’s Centre for Research on Girls and serves as an Advisory Board Member for Parents Magazine.
Having established a credible career as a Psychologist, Lisa is now booked as a speaker for corporate and public events. She has spoken globally on a variety of issues spanning from stress and anxiety to parenting and the development of teenagers. She is also advising on the Pixar movie "Inside Out 2".
