Lesley Rochat is an award-winning conservationist, otherwise known as the Shark Warrior due to her passion for shark conservation. Following a career as a professional actress and model, Lesley has now dedicated her work to ocean and shark conservation for over two decades and is a talented wildlife and underwater photojournalist. Outside of her conservation work, Lesley is now also booked as a speaker for a range of corporate and public speaking engagements, sharing her passions for conservation and how to succeed against all odds.
After a background as an actress, tv presenter and model, Lesley became interested in conservation and founded AfriOceans Conservation Alliance- a non-profit organisation committed to the conservation of sharks via satellite tagging and the release of captive sharks. Continuing her work as the CEO of AfriOceans, Lesley drives education and awareness surrounding conservation. She is also widely known as the CEO of Blue Pulse Pictures, her production company with whom she has produced the accredited documentary Sharks Deep in Trouble.
Outside of her successful social enterprises, Lesley is also a Photographic Expedition Leader and a qualified PADI Dive Master, with over 1000 dives under her belt. Using her talent in underwater and wildlife photography, Lesley is also known for her travel and environmental journalism- acting as an advocate for various organisations such as Rethink the Shark, Rethink the Predator, Oceans Speak Out and Get Hooked on Conservation. She is also a published author, having written titles such as Teacher Handbook on Sharks, Feebee the Turtle, Sue Finds Happy Eddie the Skyshark and more.
Having also founded Shark Warrior Adventures, a responsible tourism initiative, Lesley is now booked as a speaker for a range of corporate and public speaking engagements. Whether she be sharing her experiences of underwater photojournalism or her advocacy for shark and ocean conservation, Lesley combines her varied career to deliver an insightful and captivating speech.
