For over ten years Levison Wood has been covering stories and events around the world which has led to him becoming a respected explorer, photographer and best selling author. His work has featured in international publications worldwide from The Sunday Telegraph, the BBC and Channel 4 to the Discovery Channel and National Geographic. Prior to his career in travel documentaries, Levison served as an Officer in the British Regiment which in 2018 saw him fight against Taliban insurgents in Zabul, Helmand and Kandahar. To date, Levison still serves as a reservist in the British Army in 77X Brigade which has involved him recently being part of the first British troops to go on exercise to Japan.
No stranger to adventure and exploration, Levison embarked on a nine-month expedition in 2014. This involved him walking the length of the Nile and resulted in a critically acclaimed Channel 4 series as well as a book. Pushing himself to the next level, Levison completed a walk the length of the Himalayas in 2015. His walk from Afghanistan to Bhutan was documented in a 5 x 60' C4 documentary series with Levison's book following in January 2016. Furthermore, his book was voted Adventure Travel Book of the Year at the prestige Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards.
January 2017 saw him release a Sunday Times bestseller and a Channel 4 documentary surrounding his expedition of Walking The Americas from Mexico to Colombia. His most recent TV series, aired on Channel 4, entitled From Russia To Iran: Crossing the Wild Frontier. Very recently Levison returned from his latest adventure, an epic 5000-mile circumnavigation of the Arabian peninsula from Iraq to Lebanon, and is due to release another book and TV series sharing his expedition.
