Laura Adlington

Laura Adlington is Co-host of the Go Love Yourself Podcast and finalist of the 2020 Great British Bake Off, who won the nation over with her positivity and remarkable sense of humour. Although Laura experienced a significant increase in her social media following, since taking part in the show, she has also received lots of hateful messages from online trolls about her appearance. However, unrelenting to the haters, Laura has become a major advocate of body positivity who seeks to empower others to become more confident about their appearance.

Presently, Laura makes regular appearances on Channel 4’s brilliant show, Steph’s Packed Lunch and works with leading brands such as Costa Coffee, Maltesers and Panasonic on collaborations. Furthermore, Laura acts as a brand ambassador for the clothing brand Simply Be, which creates fashionable clothes for plus size women. Before rising to prominence, Laura led an ordinary life as a digital specialist and content creator. She graduated with a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia in 2010, beginning her first job as a Web Content Editor for Findlay Media. Since 2010 she has held several positions including Web and Social Media Manager, Digital Content Manager and currently holds the position of Digital Manager with South East Water UK.

Since appearing on the GBBO, Laura has seen a substantial increase in her social medial following with over 230,000 followers on Instagram and more than 30,000 on TikTok. Her skill as a content creator can be seen on her website where she shares amazing baking recipes and fashion tips for plus size fashion. Having struggled with anxiety and low self-esteem as a result of her body image, Laura is set on spreading positivity and empowering others to embrace their bodies. Through her Podcast Go Love Yourself, which rose to the Top 20 Chart on Apple within two weeks of its launch, Laura and her co-host interview a guest each week about topics ranging from fashion to mental health. Listeners can expect to hear from distinguished guests such as comedian Sofie Hagan, who shared her emotional story of being body shamed.

Laura is an incredibly positive individual who has decided to speak out against the widespread phenomenon of body shaming. Using her platform on social media and through her Podcast, she has made it her mission to empower others to be more positive about their body image.
