Kim Väisänen

Kim Väisänen is a leading Finnish entrepreneur, best known for founding one of the world’s leading data software companies. Having received countless awards for his talents as a businessman, including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Kim is a well-respected start-up investor and has featured regularly in media appearances. Now a popular choice as a speaker for events, Kim shares his detailed business expertise as a keynote speaker.

Best known for his talents as a businessman and entrepreneur, Kim is the former co-founder and CEO of Blancco. Widely regarded as the world’s leading data erasure software company, Blancco has helped clients across Europe, Japan and the USA with their troubles concerning data erasure and has spent over 15 years as a leading software security business. Kim is also known as the founder and former CEO of OK-Teline, a leading construction company of which he was later Managing Director. During his successful career, Kim’s companies have received recognition as Company of the Year from Kauppalehti, OP-Pohjola and KPMG and ICT Company of the Year from Tievikko.

After studying economics and international business studies at Yonsei University, Kim joined his father in managing the company he owned, OK-Teline. Kim worked with OK-Teline until 2008 when the company was sold, then focusing his attention on his other business ventures. Kim founded the award-winning Blancco back in 1997, with whom he worked a successful 18 years of his career developing it into a leading company specialising in practices such as data sanitisation, erasing assets and corporate social responsibility.

Outside of his own businesses, Kim has also been a board member for Rocsole Ltd and Chairman of the board for Framery Acoustics. Currently, Kim is dedicating his time to being a member of the board for Asuntosalkku Suomi, Chairman of the board for SuperApp and is a partner in both Evli Growth Partners and Takeoff Partners. As a senior partner at Takeoff Partners, Kim is revolutionising B2B software services and often finds himself working along with top Fortune 500 companies. As a growth partner of Evli Growth Partners, Kim is working to help grow companies with the venture capital firm. Kim has also been a Chairman of the Selection Committee for the Future Board and a Judge at the Nordic Startup Awards.

Having established a distinguished career, Kim is now often sought to appear as a speaker both for corporate events and on a variety of different podcasts and media broadcast appearances. Having been named Finnish Business Angel of the Year and given the Internationalisation Award of the President of the Republic of Finland, Kim’s expertise in business is highly respected and has also allowed him to author a couple of books.
