Business speaker and Managing Director of British drilling company D-Drill Julie White has been heavily involved in a number of recent training and recruitment advances taking place in British governance and policy. Leaving college with only moderate grades herself White worked a number of menial jobs whilst travelling before returning home to Coventry to launch her own business. Now White is the owner of a multi-million pound company who have secured contracts with some of the biggest businesses in both Britain and the rest of Europe.
A confident business management speaker White’s knowledge comes entirely from her own experience, her first business, Superfloor UK Ltd, was launched in 2001 and after undertaking an NVQ in business management Julie White went on to buy out the already established D-Drill, a diamond drilling firm previously owned by her father.
A champion of training and apprenticeships Julie White drastically changed the structure and output of D-Drill following her 2008 buy-out. Since then almost 50% of D-Drill’s employees, including Julie herself, have undertaken or are currently undertaking training and apprenticeships in the construction business. By implementing training schemes as standard at D-Drill Julie White has become a leader of British business, her advocacy of training and apprenticeships has led to a number of television appearances and guest spots as a business management speaker on a variety of television and radio panel shows including BBC Radio 4’s Bottom Line and Radio 5 Lives On the Money.
Julie White has also appeared as a business speaker for the UK Government and played a vital role in the development of a national database of apprentices which was launched in 2013. Her efficiency as a business leader is not only demonstrated in her work as a business management speaker but also in the success and profits of D-Drill who have recently secured contracts with the British House of Commons, the London skyscraper The Shard and the innovative Vostok Tower in Moscow, Russia.
An award winning business woman Julie White is available for hire as both a guest and keynote after dinner speaker. As one of the first and only women to lead a successful construction business in the UK White is an inspiration to thousands of young women, whilst her work with charity and local community groups has made her an icon of business and society in the West Midlands.
