After achieving a victory in the competition in 1996, Julie retired, having never reached professional status.
Despite retiring Julie Otto remained involved in the golfing industry, taking on a role as a coach, administrator, and golf speaker. Her most significant contributions to the sport as an administrator is arguably her work at golf’s world governing body, the R&A, where she was made Assistant Director of Rules. In 2011, at the age of 44, Julie Otto came out of retirement to once again participate as a player and to further develop her work in golf tuition. The former British Champion joined the Ladies European Tour in 2013. Proving there are no limits to her versatility, in 2018 she released a book titled ‘Instructions not Supplied’ about her experience of autism, and adoption.
