Jordan McKay

Jordan McKay is a renowned futurist and Associate Director, UK & Europe at Forum for the Future, with over nine years’ experience driving strategic sustainability. Jordan’s career-defining work includes designing Futures Scenarios and sustainability strategies for household names like HSBC, Unilever, Royal Enfield and the Wates Group, helping them translate bold purpose into action. Jordan’s journey began with a BA in International Relations and German from the University of Colorado Boulder, followed by an MSc in Sustainable Development from Uppsala University. He then worked across Asia, Europe, Scandinavia and North America, gathering diverse experiences - from teaching English in Taiwan to interning and working at Global Green USA, where Jordan honed their skills in sustainable program delivery and systems analysis. Later, Jordan completed the School of System Change’s European Basecamp, a rigorous programme in systems thinking and futures methods, which laid the groundwork for their strategic systems-change approach.

At Forum for the Future, he advanced through the ranks - Sustainability Strategist, Senior Sustainability Strategist, Principal Sustainability Strategist, before earning their current role as Associate Director, UK & Europe. In 2021, Jordan was seconded to HSBC, where he led futures-based sustainability integration. He has also served as a consultant with Reroot.org, promoting sustainable practices in the electronic music industry, and worked with Unilever, Walgreens Boots Alliance, SIG, and the Wates Group to uncover emerging risks and opportunities.
