John Taylor, also recognised as Lord Taylor of Warwick, is a political figure with an influential impact. From legal positions to an MP for the Conservative party, John has had a high-profile career in the upper echelons of government and continues to impress as an expert on the board of private companies. Transitioning into media and broadcast work in his post-political positions, recently John has also become known for his on-screen appearances and presenting abilities. Armed with his personal experiences, John is sought after for speaking engagements, exploring such topics as racial equality, leadership, and inclusion, having carved his own path despite the lack of diversity in his field.
Best known for his political contributions, John first entered the public sector as a local councillor for Solihull, which later led to him gaining a seat as the Conservative MP for the constituency of St Alphege in 1985. After serving for two terms, John became a Special Advisor to the Home Secretary and Ministers of State, a role in which he pioneered the Criminal Evidence Amendment Act 1997, establishing the UK’s first DNA Database. Throughout his political career, John gained a reputation as a committed and influential figure, despite facing racial discrimination in his positions, and was honoured by being made a peer. In 1996, John was named as The Lord Taylor of Warwick, one of the youngest and only Black peer in the House of Lords.
Transferring his experience garnered in government and previously as a Barrister and Judge, to the corporate sector, John has held several advisory roles in recent years. From acting as Vice-President of the British Board of Film Classification to being the Non-Executive Director of Mottram Holdings PLC, John has proven to be an insightful and invaluable resource to businesses across sectors. Currently, he continues to support global clients as the Founder of the Warwick Leadership Academy and remains an active member of the International Trade Council. John is also championing equality as the first Black British Chancellor at Bournemouth University.
As a keynote speaker, John reflects on the challenges he faced as a Black professional in sectors with a distinct lack of diversity. Additionally, he empowers audiences to invest in inclusion, equality and education surrounding such topics in corporate environments, to future proof their businesses. With extensive on-screen experience, having fronted The John Taylor Show, Talk About and more, John’s presentations at events are guaranteed to be engaging from start to finish. He has previously spoken at the White House, the United Nations and in Las Vegas for which he was rewarded the freedom of the city and honoured yearly with his own celebration day.

Read what clients had to say about John at their corporate events:
"Thank You for your passionate speech on the unacceptable high youth unemployment amongst black young people. In London the unemployment rate for black males between the age of 16 to 24 years old is 30%. Many have applied for an apprenticeship but struggle to get an employer to except their application. I am heartbroken to see so many young people that I know who have done exceptionally well to get good GCSE grades to be on the scrapheap.Black youth unemployment is hidden under the carpet because they do not have a voice on the political stage.Once again Lord Taylor, Thank You." - Colin L
"Can’t thank you enough. We loved having you and would certainly love to have you again soon." - Elise N, FOX NEWS
