Jimmy Gopperth is a professional rugby player from New Zealand, now based in the UK, having moved after signing with Newcastle Falcons in 2009. With an extensive career stretching over twenty years, Jimmy Gopperth is one of the most capped Rugby players of all time and is now the CEO of Jimmy G’s Kicking Tees and the Jimmy G Kicking Academy, an online programme aimed at providing players with the tools to improve their kicking ability.
Beginning his professional career in 2002 with Wellington RFC, he went on to play for the Hurricanes, North Harbour, and The Blues before moving across the world to play for Newcastle Falcons on a three-year deal in Premiership Rugby. He finished as top scorer twice in the Premiership with the Falcons and then moved to Ireland to play for Leinster. In 2015, he signed for Wasps, having an incredibly successful 2016/17 season and winning the Golden Boot. Jimmy served as Head Coach for Nuneaton Old Edwardians RFC before establishing Jimmy G Kicking Tees and Jimmy G Kicking Academy. He joined Leicester Tigers for the 2022/23 season, and most recently played for Provence Rugby between 2023 and 2025.
Having amassed over 4,000 points and over 500 appearances during his illustrious career, Jimmy is recognised as one of the world’s leading goal kickers. He has lifted the golden boot three times and was named the Premiership’s, the RPA’s, and Wasps’ player of the year for the 2016/17 season.
