Jenny Jones is a British Olympic speaker and snowboarding champion known for being the first Briton of either gender to win an Olympic medal in any snow event. Taking part in her first competitive event in 2009 Jenny quickly made a name for herself as one of the sportspeople to watch in the lead up to the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics; already the proud owner for four gold medals from the Winter X Games in both America and Europe Great Britain had high hopes for Jenny Jones and she did not disappoint.
Most recently Jenny has begun presenting her own radio series for BBC Radio 5 Live. Jenny Jone’s Extreme takes a look into the world of extreme sports and interviews some of the most talented and brave sportspeople. She has also become a coach on Channel 4’s reality show competition The Jump and has been recognised for her achievements by the Ski Club of Great Britain with a Pery Medal. Throughout the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Jenny joined the BBC team to provide her expertise, commentary and analysis during the broadcast of the event.
Following her bronze medal performance at Sochi Jenny has gone on to spend some time working as a Olympic speaker at corporate and sports speaker events; in this capacity she shares with audiences the ups and downs of her career thus far, highlighting the pressures of training and carrying the hopes of the British public on her shoulders.
Determined to continue her successful snowboarding career Jenny spends the summer months either in training or working as a sports speaker, she is an ambitious and hardworking individual and, in her capacity as an Olympic speaker, hopes to inspire more young people to join the niche sport and help to raise the profile of snowboarding across the UK.
