Jeff Bezos

Founder of one of the world’s most popular websites, Jeff Bezos is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in recent history. Creating Amazon in 1994, the company began in Jeff’s garage and grew into the world’s largest internet sales website. Showing ambition and innovation from an early age, Jeff even once managed to dissemble his crib with a screwdriver when he was a toddler! Graduating from Princeton University in 1986 Jeff began a career as a computer scientist on Wall Street. He was one of the first people to realise the business benefits the internet could holster and Amazon started life as an online book seller before branching out to other areas.

Jeff is a fascinating after-dinner speaker as he has plenty of other projects as well as his work with Amazon. Always interested in space, and in 2000 he founded Blue Origin a spaceflight company which aims to achieve space travel for all people. Originally interested in the idea of ‘space tourism’ with hotels and amusement parks or biting the earth, Jeff hopes to have ‘test flights’ carrying passengers underway in 2017 or 2018. Jeff’s love and fascination with space is evident throughout his after-dinner speaking events and he is truly inspiring to listen to.

In 2013 Jeff added another feather to his cap by making the move into journalism when he purchased The Washington Post newspaper. Having spent time in a variety of different industries in his career, Jeff can engage with all audiences at any kind of after-dinner speaking event. Also, the winner of multiple awards, being named Time Magazine's Person Of The Year in 1999 and Fortune magazine’s businessman of the year in 2012.
