Jamie Douglas Hamilton is an adventurer and record-holder, and the founder of ACTIPH Alkaline water. He is now a motivational keynote speaker, sharing themes on endurance, entrepreneurship, mental resilience, and performance.
In his early career, Jamie worked in advertising and executive recruitment, which allowed him to develop communication, leadership and business skills. His career took a turn after his 2014 Indian Ocean row, pivoting into endurance sports and entrepreneurship. The row was challenging with the crew battling storms, exhaustion and blackouts. Their desalinated water was flushing out vital electrolytes. They found that mixing in sea water would prevent this, and they found that their strength returned and their clarity sharpened. His experience highlighted the importance of proper hydration, sparking his idea for an alkaline water business. He founded ACTIPH Water in 2015 and it is the UK and Europe’s first ionised alkaline water. The company blends science, athletic insight and entrepreneurial innovation. Their mission is to help people hydrate more effectively and perform at their best. The product is now sold in major retailers including Holland & Barrett, Amazon and Tesco. The drink is claimed to improve performance and recovery and help with acid reflux with the bottles being 100% recyclable PET.
As an adventurer, Jamie has earned 15 Guiness World Records across several record breaking expeditions, including his pivotal 2014 Indian Ocean Row as well as The Drake Passage Row, which was the first ever human-powered row across the Drake Passage. Jamie recovered from open heart surgery, and just months later shattered eight records, this is a testament to his resilience. His experiences from his adventures show determination and mental and physical resilience, all of which he touches on in his speaking engagements. As a speaker he focuses on the core themes leadership and motivation, entrepreneurship, mental health and resilience. Jamies speaking engagements are engaging and provide actionable tips on how to best perform in high-stakes environments.
