Helen Glover MBE is a professional British rower and a member of the Great Britain Rowing team. With 2 Olympic Gold medals to her name, Helen is a highly regarded athlete who has previously been ranked as the number 1 female rower in the world. Helen has become a key team member to the victorious crew that won the Women's Eights Head of the River Race on the River Thames in both 2014 and 2015. After becoming a mother, Helen made the courageous decision to return to her sport, winning the European Coxless Pair title with Polly Swann - Helen discussed this experience in an episode of The Lovejoy Hour in 2019. She also went on to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she finished fourth, and became the first-ever mother to row for Britain. Later in 2022, Helen won a silver medal in the World Rowing Coastal Championships in the women’s solo class. Additionally, she secured a bronze medal in the women’s coxless four at the 2023 World Rowing Championships. Helen was also selected to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics and was chosen to be one of Team GB’s flag bearers at the opening ceremony alongside Tom Daley. At this Olympics, Helen won a silver medal in the Women's Four Rowing competition.
