Helen Elks-Smith is a leading garden designer, sharing her exquisite and beautiful designs as the Owner of Elks-Smith Garden Design. Having claimed two RHS Gold Medals and achieved the status of Fellow of the Society of Garden Designers, Helen shares her passion for gardening as a speaker at a range of industry events. Creating Elks-Smith Garden Design in 2000, Helen has enjoyed a successful career designing landscape gardens across the country. With the belief that gardens should delight, inspire and sit comfortably in their setting, Helen designs her gardens bespoke to clients' needs whilst enhancing the space and location of the garden. A Registered Practice of the Society of Garden Designers, Helen has also achieved the status of Fellow of the Society of Garden Designers. Creating timeless gardens, Helen is also an expert on how gardens and horticulture impact positive mental health.

Also a Trustee of the Trees and Design Action Group, Helen dedicates some of her time to promoting the importance of having trees in cities. In recognition of her talents in garden design, Helen has previously been the winner of the Society of Garden Designers Large Garden award, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Warners Distillery Garden Silver Gilt, the Society of Garden Designers Medium Residential Garden award, the Society of Garden Designers Small Residential Garden award, the BALI Design Excellence Award, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Silver Medal and the RHS Tatton International Year of Light Gold Medal.

Combining her abilities to think creatively and technically, Helen’s talents as a landscape gardener are nationally revered. Having also been named on the Horticulture Weekly Top 50 Garden Designers list, the House & Garden Top 50 Garden Designers list and the Country Life Top 25 Garden Designers list, Helen is now booked as a speaker for a range of industry events and speeches on the topic of landscape gardening and horticulture. Having also recently starred in Your Garden Made Perfect on BBC2, Helen shares her knowledge of garden craftsmanship and the impact a well-designed garden can have on mental wellbeing.
