Hannah Whelan

Olympic speaker and artistic gymnast Hannah Whelan is a gold medal winning British Commonwealth champion who has represented her country in numerous competitions around the world. Born in Singapore, Hannah relocated to England with her family aged 2 where they settled in Stockport and Whelan began practising gymnastics.

Twenty years later Hannah is a world famous Olympic speaker who competed at both the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing and the 2012 Games in London and contributed to a ninth and sixth place finish for the British team at each competition. Outside of her appearances as an Olympic speaker and contender however Hannah Whelan has had a great deal of individual success, she has taken part in no less than six British Championships, garnering three gold, eight silver and six bronze medals and achieved a silver and two bronze medals at the 2014 and 2012 European Championships respectively.

The highlight of Hannah Whelan’s career as a sports speaker and gymnast remains arguably however her contribution to the gold medal winning team at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she also won a bronze medal in the All-Around Tournament. As well as these notable achievements Hannah won a bronze medal at the 2010 Gymnastics’ World Cup for her Floor Exercise routine when she was aged just 18.
