Greg B Davies is a behavioural finance expert and leading authority on applied decision science. With over two decades of experience at the intersection of psychology, finance, and technology, Greg uses academic insight and practical advice to turn complex ideas into useful tools that teams, individuals and businesses can easily utilise.
Joining the world of decision finance in 2002, Greg served as the Director of Decision Technology for just under five years, building on his knowledge of the interaction between psychology, economics and finance. In 2006, Greg established the first behavioural finance team in global banking as Barclays’ Head of Behavioural Quant Finance, pioneering financial personality profiling and increasing the importance of behavioural data analytics. After nearly 10 years, Greg went on to found Centapse, designing and implementing problem-solving solutions into businesses to encourage better decision making from customers, professional and organisations. Since 2017, he has served as the Head of Behavioural Finance at Oxford Risk, exploring behavioural finance, risk profiling, and financial decision-making. Alongside this, Greg has held several board-level positions, including serving as an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Behavioural and Experimental Finance and Chair of the Savings Steering Group for the Financial Capability Strategy for the UK. Greg has also lectured in decision sciences at the London School of Economics and Imperial College Business School and has been a Fellow at Oxford’s Saïd Business School and University College London.
He is the co-author of “Behavioural Investment Management”, and the creator of multiple online courses: ‘The Art of Behavioural Investing’, which distils decades of knowledge into actionable guidance on improving long-term financial decisions through understanding your own psychology, and ‘’Behavioural Data Behind Financial Decisions’, which explores how behavioural data, financial personality and decision patterns shape the way people choose, act and engage. Outside of his professional career, Greg is passionate about the arts, having chaired Sound and Music for five years, co-created ‘Open Outcry’, a reality opera set on a live trading floor, and is currently a board trustee of EXAUDI.
Having advised some of the world’s largest financial institutions, Greg helps clients reduce noise, bias and emotional friction when it comes to financial decision making. He has delivered keynotes across the world to audiences of global brands, investment firms, regulators, family offices and more, and offers an acclaimed wine-tasting experience. With a rare ability to connect with people across a variety of fields, Greg is the perfect addition to a multitude of events, engagements, summits, and forums.

The Art of Behavioural Investing: Overcoming the Cost of Being Human
- Based on Greg’s online course, this keynote explains why investors so often do the wrong thing at the wrong time and what helps them stay invested. Greg unpacks the emotional costs that erode long-term returns and shows how behavioural tools and clearer decision structures help people remain comfortable and committed through uncertainty.
Behavioural Data: Understanding the Who Behind the What
- Every financial decision has a behavioural backstory. This session shows how behavioural data, financial personality, and observable decision patterns reveal the motivations and anxieties behind client choices. Greg demonstrates how these insights support more personalised communication, better suitability conversations, and stronger long-term discipline, drawing on examples from real-world industry applications.
Centaur Design: Combining Humans and Technology to Get More from Each
- As decisions grow more complex, humans and machines both have limits. Greg shows how to design technology that enhances human judgement by reducing noise, structuring thinking, and explaining why a decision makes sense. Audiences learn how AI-enabled behavioural tools act as “decision prosthetics” that support clearer, more consistent choices.
Investing in Line with Your Values
- For many investors, meaning matters as much as returns. This talk explores how personal values and sustainability preferences shape decisions and how advisers can build strategies that feel right as well as perform well. Greg blends behavioural science with practical portfolio design to help clients stay engaged and emotionally comfortable over time.
Pour Better Decisions: Behavioural Wine Tasting with John Downes MW
- A lively, interactive event where wine tasting reveals how context and expectation shape judgement. Using blind tasting and live polling, Greg and Master of Wine John Downes highlight the shortcuts that influence choices and connect these lessons directly to financial decision-making, communication, and client engagement.
