Gideon Rachman is a leading journalist presently serving as the Chief Foreign Affairs Columnist at the Financial Times. An expert in American foreign policy, the European Union and globalisation, Gideon is an accomplished writer with a substantial following. After reading History at Cambridge University, Gideon joined the BBC World Service. He then landed the role of Reporter for The Sunday Correspondent before joining The Economist as Deputy American Editor. Over his 15-year tenure with The Economist, he served in several capacities, such as Southeast Asia Correspondent, Asia Editor and Britain Editor. He was then posted in Brussels, where he wrote the popular Charlemagne European Affairs column. Gideon was also the Editor of the Economists Business and Asia sections.
In 2006, the talented journalist moved on to work for the Financial Times.
