Eman Ayad is an internationally respected journalist and news presenter with more than 30 years of experience in broadcast media. Born in Kuwait and educated with a bachelor’s degree in political science, she has built a distinguished career reporting on major geopolitical events and interviewing influential figures across the world. Known for her composed on-screen presence and incisive political analysis, she has become one of the most recognisable voices in Arab international news.
Eman began her career in Washington DC with the Arab Network of America TV and Radio (ANA), working as a field journalist, programme producer and presenter. She then joined Dubai TV, where she worked from the American capital as a news correspondent and producer, presenting a range of political, social and medical programmes from 1995 to 1998. These early roles placed her close to global political developments and helped shape her thoughtful and analytical reporting style.
In 1999, Eman joined Al Jazeera as a principal news presenter. She initially worked as a correspondent and presenter in Washington DC before moving to the network’s headquarters in Doha, Qatar. From there, she became a prominent anchor, presenting programmes including “Beyond the News” and “Today’s Interview”. Across her career, she has interviewed some of the most influential Arab and international figures and reported on landmark events including the September 11 attacks, the assassination of Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, the US presidential elections of 2004 and 2008, and the Arab Spring uprisings across Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Syria.
Her work has earned widespread recognition, including being named Best Presenter on Arab Television at the Arab Media Festival in Beirut in 2006. As a keynote speaker, Eman Ayad is sought after for her deep insight into international affairs, journalism and the evolving global media landscape. Drawing on decades of frontline reporting, she offers audiences a rare perspective on world politics, media responsibility and the power of informed storytelling.
