An award-winning journalist, Shiulie Ghosh has over two decades worth of experience in the industry working as a top broadcaster. From the BBC to ITV and Al Jazeera, Shiulie has fronted various programmes and reported from numerous conflict and disaster zones worldwide. A published author with her own media production company, Shiulie is now frequently booked as a speaker for events covering topics such as health, humanitarian issues, diversity, equality and international affairs.
Having worked for some of the top broadcasters, Shiulie is best known as senior anchor for Al Jazeera English and leading anchor for TRT World. She is a well known face on Newshour and has also hosted Inside Story. Widely known for presenting Every Woman, a programme advocating women’s issues, Shiulie won the Editor’s Choice Media Excellence Award. She is also the founder of Aero Productions Ltd, a media production company.
After studying law at the University of Kent, Shiulie followed a different path and started her career working for Radio Cleveland as a programme assistant. Finding her feet in the world of broadcasting and entertainment, Shiulie was later accepted as a trainee on BBC News. For the following eight years, Shiulie moved around the BBC in various positions building her knowledge and experience of the broadcasting industry. As the 1990s drew to a close, Shiulie moved to work with ITV, working her way through the ranks until she was ultimately appointed Home Affairs Editor for ITV.
Today, Shiulie is a freelance journalist and presenter in partnership with TRT World. Throughout her career, Shiulie has witnessed and reported on world-shaking events including the death of Nelson Mandela, Kosovo War, the Arab Spring and Osama Bin Laden. Shiulie is also a published author, having written Kingdom Of Salt, Mark Of The Djinn and Daughter Of Kali. As a host, moderator and speaker, Shiulie has addressed many high-profile companies and organisations, with previous clients including the likes of the United Nations and the World Health Assembly.
