Entering the Irish Kart Championship in 1971, Eddie ended the season victorious and sparked a move to Formula Ford just a few years later in 1974. Setting up Eddie Jordan Racing in 1979, Jordan would go on to sign British Motorsport great Martin Brundle and Johnny Herbert to run in a number of competitions including the British Formula Three Championship.
Eddie’s eye for talent has seen some of the most successful people get their break and drive for Jordan’s teams. Notable drivers have included Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, Rubens Barichello and Jean Alesi. Founding the Jordan Grand Prix team in 1991, Eddie gave a young Michael Schumacher his debut in Formula One.
By 1998, the team had made a huge impression on the heavyweights of the sport, finishing first at the Belgian Grand Prix with drivers Damon Hill and Ralf Schumacher.
