Dwayne Fields is an adventurer and explorer, originally born in Jamaica before coming to live in the UK when he was 6 years old. Growing up in London, Dwayne was unfortunate to fall victim to knife crime and gun crime, experiencing the world of gangs and crime from a young age. After facing such experiences, Dwayne decided to change his life for the better pursuing his passion for adventure, exploration and the environment which he had enjoyed as a child living in Jamaica.
An experienced and successful explorer, Dwayne Fields has completed various daring and extraordinary feats. Originally studying and obtaining an Honours Degree in Psychology, International Development and Business Management, Dwayne spent three years as an electrical engineer on the London Underground, working tirelessly to raise funds in order to pursue his dreams of exploring the world. In 2007, Dwayne was able to achieve his dreams completing the Three Peaks Challenge after scaling the heights of Scarfell Pike, Ben Nevis and Mount Snowdon all within 24 hours! He also completed the 2010 Chara Challenge, carrying 32 pounds of weights in a 30-mile cross-country race, not for the fainthearted.
Determined to explore the world further, Dwayne set out on another impressive feat in 2010. Walking an astounding 370 miles, Dwayne became the First Young Black Briton to reach the Magnetic North Pole. Later in 2019, Dwayne joined exploration partner Phoebe Smith in the Seabirds to South adventure, using the expedition as an avenue to inspire young people, highlight environmental issues and promote conservation efforts. Since completing these feats, Dwayne has set his heart on conquering the South Pole and has also pioneered projects set to take course in 2021 and 2022, taking underprivileged youth to Antarctica and carbon-neutral expeditions.
Throughout the course of his incredible feats, Dwayne’s commitment to exploring and the environment have not gone unnoticed. Upon returning from his North Pole expedition, Dwayne was invited to mark the Centenary of Scott’s Expedition to the South Pole, spending the day at Buckingham Palace in the presence of HRH Queen Elizabeth II. Dwayne has been the recipient of the Freedom of the City of London and has also claimed the Geographical Award 2018 from the Royal Geographical Society. He also commits his time to several organisations, currently acting as an Ambassador for the Scout Association, The National Trust, the Ordnance Survey and The Woodland Trust.
Now highly sought as a public speaker, Dwayne is in demand for interviews on radio, TV and podcasts. He recently presented films for The One Show and Countryfile, and is working on other broadcast projects alongside promoting his passion to get more young people interested in the countryside, and the world around them.

"I’m delighted to endorse Dwayne Fields, I’ve said before how inspired I am by people like Dwayne. It takes a lot of courage, tenacity and will to start a challenge of this nature, as I know myself. I love the fact that he has broken the mould, and that he actively seeks to inspire young people particularly in our inner cities, to explore the countryside and to embark on and embrace challenges of their own. Am pleased to be a supported of Dwayne and hope that, together, you and I will do all we can to help Dwayne in his goal of reaching the South Pole in 2020"- Ben Fogle
