Ciara is an American R&B singer who achieved over 45 million in worldwide sales and over 3 billion views on her YouTube channel. She released many award-winning albums that have topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and several hit singles including Love Sex Magic, Level Up and Goodies. Not only does Ciara possess an agile voice that perfectly encapsulates the R&B genre, she is also the face of leading brands such as Revlon cosmetics and has appeared in several MTV films including All You’ve Got.
Ciara began her musical journey when she founded the group Hearsay with her friends, they recorded some demos but eventually split up. Despite the setback, Ciara went on to sign a record deal with LaFace Records on the recommendation of her producer Jazze Pha. She released her debut studio album Goodies in 2004 which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and charts in the UK. The album was certified triple Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and received two nominations at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards. Ciara went on to feature in Missy Elliott’s Lose Control and Bow Wow’s Like You which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
Releasing her second album in 2006, Ciara: The Evolution reached number one in the US and was certified Platinum. During the same year, Ciara made her film debut in MTV’s All You’ve Got. Her third album Fantasy Ride released in 2009 generated the international top-ten single Love Sex Magic, which featured Justin Timberlake and gained a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. Ciara would release four more albums, the most recent being her seventh, Beauty Marks which was released in 2019 and produced the hit single Level Up. Ciara signed a new record deal with Republic Records and Uptown Records in 2022 in partnership with her label Beauty Marks Entertainment.
In 2016 Ciara signed a modelling contract with IMG and became a Global Brand Ambassador for cosmetics company Revlon. She has also collaborated with Adidas, and Amazon and was the face of Jay-Z Rocawear’s clothing line. Ciara has many philanthropic contributions such as donating one million meals to Food Lifeline during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, she contributed through her music to the $100 million generated for cancer research, when she sang Just Stand Up during the Stand Up to Cancer television special.
